An end-user on the East Coast recently required a solution for a pumping system in an existing infrastructure that couldn’t exceed 100 PSI. The system required higher volumes for fire flows as well as potable water demand, all tied to a single underground water line. Their request was challenging and to meet the constraints, Geo-Systems USA designed a system with a UL/ FM fire pump and diesel Pressure Limiting Driver with a 100 PSI limit. The fire pump was designed with lead-free materials (safe for drinking water), and the system includes an integral domestic water booster system for the stringent system requirements.

Another recent project required a complete fire pump house and an adjacent water storage tank. Geo-Systems USA designed a tank circulation system with automatic alternation to ensure constant movement of water in the tank, preventing stagnation and offering freeze prevention.

Geo-Systems USA also helped a school facility originally designed with three separate pump houses and underground lines for fire, domestic and irrigation flow demands. They designed a system incorporating all three stations in a single pump house, fed from a single water storage tank; this approach can reduce underground lines on site, as well as substantially reduce an end user’s cost impact.

The operational aspect of Geo-Systems USA has been further aided by the recently initiated Field Services Division for after-market solutions, catering to the growing demand for existing installations. This includes annual inspections and testing of fire pumps, troubleshooting, repairs and complete replacements, in conjunction with a licensed fire sprinkler contractor.
